Why does the KLANG:1 / KLANG:1pro get warm or hot during operation?

We occasionally receive questions about the surface temperature of the KLANG:1 and KLANG:1pro.

The housing of both products is intentionally designed to act as a heat sink and is an integral part of the cooling system. As a result, the enclosure may feel warm or even hot to the touch during normal operation, especially after extended use.

This behavior is expected and is fully within the specified operating limits of the product. Both the KLANG:1 and KLANG:1pro have been thoroughly tested and validated under high-temperature operating conditions to ensure reliable performance and long-term stability.

No additional cooling equipment is required when the unit is used within its specified environmental conditions and with adequate ventilation around the device.

The operating temperature of the enclosure does not indicate a fault and will not cause the unit to behave erratically. If the product is operated according to the instructions provided in the user documentation, it will continue to function as designed. We occasionally receive questions about the surface temperature of the KLANG:1 and KLANG:1pro.

Can I remote control the system via MIDI or OSC?

Yes, that is possible.

KLANG:app, all KLANG processors and KLANG:kontroller exclusively communicate with each other via OpenSoundControl (OSC) messages. Find all details about the OSC messages in the OSC Reference Guide.

KLANG:app can further be MIDI MCU and MIDI for Allen & Heath consoles.
