Backup & Restore Settings

Transfer Show Files via KLANG:app

It is always possible to copy presets one by one between processor and KLANG:app and vice versa.

Backup Settings

  1. Backup ALL settings (Show Files, Personal Presets, Clock & IP Settings & Restriction Settings, Log Files) of a KLANG hardware device via KLANG:app > CONFIG > INFO > Collect all logs.
  2. Click on Save Logs as ZIP
  3. Unzip and locate the *.tar.gz that matches the product you want to get the settings from.
  4. Open this file. This is a standard ZIP file, so it might be required to just rename the file to .zip
  5. This folder contains Autosave1, Autosave2 and Presets with the settings.
For 2nd Generation processors (:vokal, DMI-KLANG, :konductor and also :kontroller) a backup folder is also created on the USB drive during a USB KOS Update.
This folder is named KLANGtechnologies_BACKUP and this contains a folder with the serial number of the product. Open this folder to get to the subfolder Autosave1, Autosave2 and Presets.

Restore Settings

This only works on 2nd Generation processors (:vokal, DMI-KLANG, :konductor and also :kontroller).

Restore ALL Settings

  1. Copy the following folders to the root of the USB drive
    • Autosave1 (contains all settings, e.g. clock source, routing, IP address)
    • Autosave2
    • Presets (contains all presets)
  2. Perform a KOS USB Update (could be to the same KOS version).
This will overwrite all existing settings on the device with the ones in these folders. Existing presets on the device will not be deleted. In case the existing presets should be delete, first perform a factory reset on the device.

Restore ONLY Presets

  1. Copy ONLY the Presets folder from the KLANGtechnologies_BACKUP folder to the root folder of the USB drive.
  2. Perform a KOS USB Update (could be to the same KOS version).
This will copy the presets from the USB drive to the device. Existing presets on the device will not be deleted, but presets with the same name will be overwritten. In case the existing presets should be delete, first perform a factory reset on the device.
