SSL Console Integration

Remote Control KLANG immersive mixing from SSL Live Consoles.

ADM OSC | 3rd Party Immersive Control

ADM-OSC support for immersive workflows, allowing more advanced and standardised control in immersive audio setups. For further infos check the detailed guide:

KLANG:1 & KLANG:1pro

Support for KLANG:1/:1pro, enabling seamless use of the new compact immersive processors within the KLANG ecosystem.

  • USB Plug&Play Configuration
  • Separate KLANG Control IP Addresses on Dante Primary and Secondary
  • Native Dante Patching via KLANG:app without requiring Dante Controller

New Settings Screen & Improved Device Configuration

All app and device settings used to be somewhat hidden in CONFIG > INFO and they are now available in dedicated views that allow to monitor all settings at a glance.

Unlike the Set Menu, the new screens also offer additional help when the Tooltip function is enabled.

App Settings

All app related setting have been consolidated and added to CONFIG > APP and organized in foldable logical blocks. Some of these app settings have been available via CONFIG > INFO > App Settings and remain there for compatibility reasons.

General

Choose the App color scheme with a skin, increase or decrease the element sizes of the new settings screen.

Mixing

Local Network

KLANG:app often sees multiple IP addresses from all the network adaptors attached to the system. This section provides a clean overview including the subnet mask in CIDR notation along with the IP and the network adaptor name and it allows to sort this list.

Specify a Custom OSC Receive Port if required for third party integrations.

Connect Screen

All settings affecting the Connect Screen are now consolidated in this section, e.g. the name that this KLANG:app announces itself on the network, the processor IP address and mix number it will connect to and what kind of devices should be visible or hidden in the device list.

:kontroller Mockup

When connected to the built-in Offline Editor, configure the behavior of a simulated KLANG:kontroller via CONFIG > APP > :kontroller Mockup

Start the :kontroller GUI from this panel. The locally stored settings can be pushed on a hardware KLANG:kontroller later on.

About & Help

Legal information, release notes as well as the link to KLANG’s extensive online documentation (that you are currently reading) is all available in one spot. Newly added features allow to easily open the local app folder that contain presets or app settings and logs, as well a backup of all app settings with a single push of a button.

Connected Device Settings

All connected device settings can now be viewed in one place, with the ability to copy configurations between devices for faster setup. They are organized also in foldable logical blocks and depending on the product in two lists, one for the UI and one for core features such as audio and network.

Batch Snapshot Editing

KLANG’s Snapshot System is a powerful tool especially for monitor engineer that do not use the DiGiCo console integration. Snapshots store channel and mix volume gains, panning (azimuth, elevation, width, mode), mute/solo and tone filter.
The new features enables quicker and more flexible show preparation by allowing multiple snapshots to be edited simultaneously.

  1. Go to CONFIG > PRESET
  2. Select the snapshot(s) to edit. Multi-select by holding down Shift or Ctrl.
  3. Click Edit Snapshot

Parameters

Select the parameter to be changed. The following parameters are available and reflect the parameters seen in KLANG:app. Relative Channel Fader and Relative Mix Volume are similar to the fader +/- button and change the relative gain. All other parameters overwrite the existing parameters in an absolute manner.

Scope

  • : without any numbers stands for all channels / mixes
  • Range via <start>:<end>, e.g. channels/mixes 1–5 1:5
  • Selection via <numberA>, <numberB>, <numberC>, e.g. channels/mixes 1,4,8
  • Combination of Range and Selection, e.g. 1,4,10:16 for channels/mixes 1, 4, and 10–16

Action Buttons & Macro OSC

Key functions can now be placed directly on the main menu for instant access, such as loading mixes, triggering snapshots, or preparing devices before show start.

To enable Action Buttons go to CONFIG > APP > Action Buttons > Show in Main Menu

A maximum of 8 Action Buttons can be defined. Only defined action buttons will be shown in the Main Menu.

Click on the Action Button in the Menu menu to trigger the associated action.

Personal Mixing Improvements

New features further enhance flexibility for engineers and performers.

Screensaver

KLANG:app and KLANG:kontroller now offers a screensaver, that can be configured and started manually by the Admin.

Locally on KLANG:app > CONFIG > APP > Screensaver

You can start the Screensaver immediately with a button.

Automatically start the screensaver when inactive after an adjustable timeout in seconds.

The screensaver on KLANG:app is closed with a simple tap / click (default) or when locked, it requires a 3 second press and hold to close. The same setting is available on :konductor’s front GUI. The screensaver on KLANG:kontroller turns the :kontroller LEDs and displays dark, just the CONFIG button will softly blink.

CONFIG > APP > Screensaver settings for the local app.

CONFIG > APP > Screensaver settings for the remote device.

Either login to the musician KLANG:app > CONFIG > SETTINGS > Jump to Screen > Screensaver

Or via an Action Button: SCREENSAVER to other app (recommended), as a Broadcast or the the currently connected KLANG:app/KLANG:kontroller.

The screensaver will be closed when the Jump to screen command is used.

Simplified Networking

Split Control with an additional fixed Control IP address in the range 10.10.10.0/24 and a regular Control IP address in the range 192.168.0.0/16 for Wi-Fi KLANG:app control, DiGiCo Console Integration.

Network setup has been streamlined to reduce complexity and improve reliability:

  • Easier separation of audio (Dante) and control networks
  • KLANG:kontroller connectivity can now be maintained over a dedicated IP setup without requiring VLAN configuration

By removing the need for VLAN configuration, KLANG simplifies network setup, allowing engineers to separate audio and control networks without complex IT configuration, reducing setup time and potential points of failure.

(Second Control IP, Split Ports) This significantly speeds up the setup process. Application KLANG:vokal can be configured to have an additional dedicated Control IP address for the Dante network, i.e. WiFi router on vokal’s Control port and :kontrollers connected to the Dante port. All have access to the :vokal settings, but the Wifi network and Dante network remain completely separated. No need to configure VLANs on :kontrollers anymore.

Accessibility

First Step

This release introduces the first improvements toward more accessible workflows:

  • Improved support for screen readers

These changes mark an important step toward making immersive mixing more inclusive and usable for

Companion App

For remote control via Bitfocus Companion, KLANG immersive processors and KLANG:app can be used with Elgato Stream Deck or other supported Companion control surfaces. Please refer to the dedicated Bitfocus Companion integration guide for setup instructions and further details.

Under the Hood

In addition to user-facing features, KOS & KLANG:app includes numerous improvements to stability, performance, and security. This foundational work ensures a more robust and future-ready system across all supported devices.

e.g. Mac OS Ghost / unresponsive windows KKA-431 Fixes: Flickering Set Menu

The first generation KLANG processors KLANG:fabrik and KLANG:vier cannot support this update, i.e. KOS 5.7 is the latest version to run on those devices. However the new version of KLANG:app and KLANG:kontroller is still compatible with KOS 5.7 and show files remain compatible.
