KLANG:quelle XDM | Recovery & Factory Reset

The KLANG:quelle XDM features a built-in Recovery System to assist with firmware updates and troubleshooting in case of malfunction or misconfiguration. This system provides a minimal operating environment with essential network functionality and a familiar interface on the front display.

Activating the Recovery System

To activate the Recovery System:

  1. Power off the KLANG:quelle XDM.
  2. Press and hold the rotary encoder on the front panel.
  3. While continuing to hold the encoder, power the unit back on.
  4. Keep the encoder pressed for approximately 10 seconds and release.
  5. Wait, there is no instant feedback on the display. Then the Recovery System boots.
Once activated, the front display will show a user interface similar in appearance to the standard GUI but operating in recovery mode.

Options in Recovery Mode

The Recovery System provides two primary functions:

1. Factory Reset

To clear any settings that may be causing operational issues:

  • Navigate through the front panel menu and select RESET XDM.
  • This will restore the unit to its default settings.
  • After completing the reset, power cycle the device to return to normal operation.

2. Web Access and Firmware Update

If you prefer to update the firmware or configure the device remotely:

  • Connect the :quelle XDM to your network.
  • Determine its IP address (displayed on the recovery screen).
  • Open a web browser and enter the IP address (e.g., https://10.11.12.149).
  • From the web interface, drag and drop a new firmware file to update the device.
