Offline Editor | Showfile Prep

What is the Offline Editor ?

Imagine you are on a tour bus or at home and don’t have access to any KLANG hardware, but you want to prepare a show. No problem, we have created an Offline Editor feature that simulates any KLANG processor. It let’s you connect to it, load and save show files and even allow other KLANG:apps on your local network to connect to it. Of course, this feature is built directly into KLANG:app so there is no additional software required.

With the Offline Editor, it is also possible to run the KLANG DiGiCo console integration, i.e. use any of the DiGiCo console offline software alongside KLANG:app and setup the console remote.

Start The Offline Editor

To start the Offline Editor

  1. Make sure you are in Admin Mode
  2. Go to CONFIG > CONNECT
  3. Click on OFFLINE EDITOR

This will start a simulation of a KLANG processor inside this KLANG:app with the IP address 127.0.0.1

The network status above CONFIG turns blue when connected to the local Offline Editor.

Change the simulated KLANG Processor

Go to CONFIG > SYSTEM to change any of the following settings of the simulated KLANG processor to your needs:

  • Processor type
  • Clock speed mode (sampling rate)
  • EQ mode
  • [Number of mixes, number of inputs: only for KLANG:fabrik]

Click on Change Offline Editor Settings to apply the changes.

Preview Mix on :kontroller

KLANG:app also offers a simulation of the :kontroller interface. Go to CONFIG > SYSTEM and click on Show this mix on :kontroller

Once started, the interface offers mainly all control functionality as the hardware :kontroller, except for the local mix in the AMB/AUX menu.

In order to close the :kontroller simulator, simply use the ESC key or click on any of the menu buttons on the left STAGE, FADERS, CONFIG.

Settings of the simulated :kontroller can be changed in CONFIG > SYSTEM > ADVANCED SETTINGS: > :kontroller GUI

Managing Show Files

The offline editor has access to all KLANG Show Files (*.KLANGshow) that are stored in your app (THIS :app). In case you have a .KLANGshow on your computer, simply drag and drop on KLANG:app to import it. Set up your show file and save it in CONFIG > PRESET to your KLANG:app. From there you can export it or transfer it to a hardware KLANG processor when are connected to it.

Console & MIDI Integration

The offline editor simulates a KLANG processor of choice, except for audio processing. But this means you can also setup the DiGiCo console integration, with either a hardware console or the offline software.

The same is true for the MIDI integration; KLANG:app with the offline editor can be connected to e.g. an Allen & Heath console or the offline software on the same computer via the MIDI control driver.
